The housing market across most of the United States is strong right now. Reno-Sparks isn't seeing the usual slow down that we often find in the winter months and if you're a home buyer or plan on purchasing a home in the near future, you may be concerned. There are several things you can do when looking for a new home to help you break through the competition to find and purchase the home of your dreams.
1. Instant Alerts. We offer the option to be instant alerted when a home meeting your requirements comes on the market. Instead of searching real estate sites every other day, this will alert you immediately so you can schedule a time to view it. Our system is directly tied to the MLS, so you will see all of the homes for sale in Reno-Sparks, not just the ones associated with us. Contact us if you'd like to set up an instant alert or if you'd like to know more about real estate in the Reno-Sparks area.
2. Be Prepared to Make an Aggressive Offer. Gone are the days of low-balling a seller in hopes to make a deal. There are plenty of other buyers who would be happy to pay asking price, or close to asking price for a fairly priced home. Be prepared to make an offer by working with your lender to get pre-qualified for a specific loan amount. Offers that include a pre-qualification from a lender are stronger than those that don't.
3. Hire an Experienced Agent. There are a lot of excellent real estate agents in Reno and Sparks. Choose an agent you feel comfortable working with who has strong references and has worked in the area a long time. An experienced agent can make all the difference in a smooth real estate transaction.
Buying a home in a fast paced market can be stressful, but it doesn't have to be. If you have the tools to navigate the market, you can alleviate a lot of that stress.
