Before you put your home on the market, there are some steps to take to make the process easier. Since we're still under a stay at home order for a least a little while longer, this is an excellent time to get started on those steps. If you have any questions about the local real estate market or would like a no-obligation market valuation on your home, please reach out.

Call Real Estate Agents. Experts say you should speak with three real estate agents before making your choice. Does this person come highly recommended? What is their experience?

Get a Home Valuation. The real estate agent you choose should provide you with a home valuation, so you know what your home will list for in today's market. Reno-Sparks is still in a seller's market, but interest rates are historically low making this a good time to be both a seller and buyer.

Prepare Your Home For Sale. Have a trusted friend or your real estate agent stop by and recommend things that will make your house show better. Also, consider a deep cleaning, removing clutter, and touching up paint.

Make Repairs. Everything from a leaky faucet to structural damage should be fixed before listing. Unless you plan to price accordingly, making repairs now could be your best return on investment.

Begin Packing. If you know you'll be moving before winter, consider packing up your winter gear. Clean out closets, declutter, and donate anything you don't use anymore. Not only will having fewer items make moving easier, but your house will show better too!
