The weather forecast is predicting more snow and for home sellers who are hoping for an end of year offer, you may be concerned about how your home will show. 1. Keep it cozy. Make sure the heat is on and your home is warm enough. Place a throw blanket on the couch and if you have a wood burning fireplace, place the wood in the fireplace. A nice scent (think winter scents like vanilla, cranberry, or spruce) will help the overall effect. 

2. Prevent a Muddy Mess. With rain and snow comes mud. Don't let potential home buyers track everything in by placing a welcome mat on the front porch, another nicer mat or rug inside the front door. Keep a decorative basket in the entry filled with booties or request that everyone just take their shoes off when viewing the home. 

3. Decorate the Front Porch. Your luscious front lawn is covered in a blanket of snow and ice and your recently shoveled driveway doesn't make the best focal point. Add some color to your front porch as potential home buyers' eyes will be drawn to the front door. Poinsettias offer a bright, festive touch. Or winter decor (think snowmen, snowflakes or artificial greenery) will be appropriate until spring without being too reminiscent of the holidays. 

4. Have Photos Taken in Warmer Weather. If you can plan for it, have professional photos taken of your property during the summer or fall when the trees still have leaves and your lawn is still lush and green. If that's not an option, have photos taken on a sunny day when the home will likely show better.
