If you have limited vacation time or funds for a lengthy vacation this year, you may be considering a staycation. Luckily, Northern Nevada has plenty of activities to keep you busy, without traveling too far from the comforts of home. If you're planning a staycation, a luxurious backyard can make all the difference. These simple tips can get your backyard into staycation shape in no time.

Outdoor Living Space- create a comfortable, chic space by incorporating plenty of seating. Use stone or ground cover to replace a grass lawn. Hardscape like attractive fencing, or even outdoor curtains can black off a room for a little more privacy.

Play Yard- Who says your backyard should be a lawn with a few trees or garden beds? Mix things up by adding a bocce ball court, corn hole, or horse shoe pit. Add a fire pit and a bistro or picnic table and you're ready to entertain.

Luxury Shed- Whether you're leaning toward an outdoor man-cave or she-shed, a small, well-equipped out building can offer the best of an extended vacation every day. Add solar lighting if electricity isn't available.

Upgraded Outdoor Lighting. Sure, tiki torches are fun, but if you're stay-cationing, you may want something a little more substantial. Solar lighting is easy to install and is relatively hassle free. Flood lights are great if you have a large yard and string lights are perfect to add ambiance to a porch.

Budget-Friendly Patio. If you have an area where grass just won't grow, or perhaps your green thumb isn't so green, consider modifying an area you don't use into a small patio. A fire pit and small seating area can create a great focal point in an otherwise unattractive and unused area.
