This summer has been especially severe with the Caldor and Dixie fires burning so close to home.  The Air Quality Index has been in the very unhealthy and hazardous ranges for several days and many people are choosing to stay inside. Even while inside your home you are still exposed to smoke, but there are several steps you can take to limit that exposure. 

  • If you have an HVAC system with a fresh air intake, set the system to the recirculating mode. If you do not have a recirculating mode, you can close the outdoor intake damper.
