The year end report for 2014 is good news for luxury home sellers. Total sales were up in 2014 over 2013 numbers with 77 sales of luxury homes. That’s about a 12% increase.

With the craziness of the holidays over, it might be time to take a vacation. Sherman’s Travel Blog has highlighted their top budget-friendly vacations to take in 2015 and Reno/Tahoe makes the list.

IMG_2164The article highlights Reno’s inexpensive accommodations that average under $100 per night. Even the higher end hotels have comparatively inexpensive rates. Reno also has over 300 days of sunshine each year, which is fantastic for enjoying all of the outdoor activities; specifically fly fishing, hiking, biking and rock climbing.

Sherman’s Travel Blog also recommends visitors take advantage of the close proximity of Lake Tahoe and all of the ski resorts in the area as well as Virginia City for a bit of culture.

The Tahoe Truckee Excellence in Education has announced that several North Lake Tahoe area ski resorts will provide substantial discounts on one-day lift tickets. The proceeds will go toward Excellence in Education programs.  Ticket prices start at $40 for lift tickets and $15 for cross-country tickets.
