Whether you're purchasing a home in Somersett, Caughlin Ranch, Damonte Ranch, or Montreaux, you'll undoubtedly run into a few extra expenses after your new home closes.
When you move into your new home, you may realize that some things are missing, especially if it's your first new construction. Window coverings, like blinds, are often an extra expense you'll incur right after you close as your home might not come with them. If you don't want to pin sheets to the windows the day you move in for privacy, consider ordering blinds before you close. The builder should be able to provide you with the size of the windows so you can do just that. Many new construction homes don't come with appliances- specifically refrigerators, washers and dryers like some previously owned homes.
In the yard, remember that some home builders don't landscape or fence the backyard. Many neighborhoods have HOAs that require homeowners complete their landscaping within a specific time frame. If you plan on working with a landscape architect, discuss plans before your new home closes so you can be on their schedule and have the work completed before your time limit with the HOA.
