What are your plans for Independence Day? Will you be taking a road trip? Hanging out with friends for a barbecue? Checking out the fireworks in Downtown Reno? There are plenty of options to celebrate the 4th of July in and around Northern Nevada.
Fireworks and Beach Party- Held at the Kings Beach State Recreation Area from 7:00 pm- 10:00 pm, there will be food vendors, a beer and wine garden and live performances by the San Diego Marines Double-Time Brass Band. Fireworks should begin at 9:30pm.
Star Spangled Sparks- Free event that includes fireworks hosted by The Nugget Casino Resort. Festivities begin at 4:00 pm on Victorian Square with food and craft vendor booths. Live music begins at 5:00 pm featuring The Garage Boys. Fireworks will begin between 9:30 and 9:45.
American Salute at Wingfield Park- The Reno Phil Orchestra and Chorus will perform patriotic and classical favorites at Wingfield Park. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. and fireworks will immediately follow.
Virginia City 4th of July Celebration and Fireworks- The celebration begins at 10 a.m. and includes a parade, raffle and auction, the Comstock Cowboys Second Amendment Concert, old-west shootouts, shopping, and train rides. Fireworks are scheduled to begin around 9:15- 9:30.
Greater Nevada Field Fireworks- Watch the Reno Aces take on the Sacramento River Cats with fireworks to follow. The baseball game starts at 6:35 p.m.
4th of July Celebration and Fireworks- The carnival, including a skate expo rides, games and craft vendors, at Mills Park in Carson City opens at 1 p.m. and fireworks are schedule to begin around 9:30. The carnival also runs today and tomorrow.
Truckee 4th of July Parade- The parade begins at 10 a.m. in Downtown Truckee and will continue through Truckee High School, along Donner Pass Road to the intersection of Bridge and Church Streets. Road closures begin at 9:30.
