2019 Spring Running Events in Reno-Tahoe

Are you a casual runner or a more competitive runner? Reno-Tahoe is known for its outdoor activities and the running season is just beginning. So whether you prefer to log your runs in miles or by the costume, there's a running event in the area for you. 

Downtown River Run Marathon- April 6. Voted Nevada's top marathon, this race begins and ends under the Reno Arch. 

2nd Annual Ryan Volker and Rose Scarpa Memorial Scholarship 5k Ninja Run- April 7. Dress as your favorite Ninja as you run or walk Truckee River. Proceeds benefit a scholarship fund in honor of Ryan Volker and Rose Scarpa. 

Healthy Parks Healthy People 5K and Kids' Run- April 13. Run proceeds will benefit the Student Stewards Summer Camp, a STEM based program with lessons drawn from our local parks.

Biggest Little Half Marathon- May 5. This 5K or 10K starts under the Reno Arch and winds through Reno neighborhoods. This event is sponsored by the City of Reno and benefits the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. 

Mom's on the Run- May 12. This 5K or 10k raises funds to assist northern Nevada women with everyday living expenses to help off-set medical expenses incurred while in treatment for breast & gynecological cancers. Held Mother's Day weekend, this event has become a tradition for many Northern NV families. 

Silver State 50K, 50-Miler & Trail Half Marathon- May 18. With several courses to choose from this race starts and finishes at Rancho San Rafael Park in northwest Reno.

Reno Tahoe Odyssey Relay Run- May 31-June 1. For those who want to log some miles, this is a relay from Wingfield Park in Reno to Lake Tahoe and back to Reno making a large 178 mile loop. 

Capital Odyssey Relay- June 1. This relay goes from Carson City to Reno, about 54 miles and joins the Reno Tahoe Odyssey Relay Run. 

Comstock Odyssey Relay- June 1. This relay begins in the heart of Virginia City to Reno and is on the last 6 legs of the Reno Tahoe Odyssey course.  

Rock Tahoe Half Marathon- June 15. The 13.1 miles course begins at Spooner Summit and goes south along the shoreline of Lake Tahoe.
