I have some market news to share with you.

Let’s take a look at Median Price and Days on Market trends over the past 6 months in the greater Reno-Sparks area for single family home sales.

According to the Reno-Sparks Association of Realtors, the median price increased by $7,000 to $389,000 from June to July. That is a new record for median price of single family homes in Reno/Sparks. It has increased by over 10% since July of last year. This year-over-year change highlights the strong demand for housing being driven by low housing inventory, low mortgage rates and continued economic growth.

Reno/Sparks area Realtors sold 444 single family homes in July, which was a 25% decrease from June and a 34% decrease in sales compared to this time last year.

In July, the number of available homes remained about the same since June but is down by about 10% when compared to July of last year. With fewer listings year over year and continued growth in the region, the economics of supply and demand are impacting the median price and days on market.

Perhaps you're planning to take advantage of the equity in your home. Or maybe you're right sizing into something with less square footage and a more manageable yard. No matter the reason you're selling the home, you likely want to sell it quickly, with as little stress as possible and for top dollar.
