In a recent article on Realtor.com, author Jonathon Smoke argues that Millennials, people born between 1981 and 2000, are driving the current housing market. Millennials make up about 90 million people, the largest generation living at this time. Storm believes that Millennials are just beginning to purchase homes and the sheer number of them will drive the market.

Here’s a quick look at the Reno/Sparks housing market. October single family home sales were down 5 percent from September, but the median sales price increased by 8.7 percent, from $239,000 in September to $260,000 in October.

Condo sales remained steady over the past two months, but the median sales price for condos decreased by 7 percent, from $107,500 in September down to just below one hundred thousand in October.
